Annie Poem
Hopefully a big step up from the pencil version. I guess this has Tim Burton's influence without stepping on his toes as far as style goes. You know, dark characters with a sense of humor. A light side.
Also, there's a lot of gimmicky 'goth' characters all over stores like Hot Topic and whatever. It kind of cheapens the genre. To me anyway. I just want to create characters with a little more substance...not just icons. That's one of the reasons why I like Tim Burton. His characters are real, not just sticker-and-lunch-box-fodder. You can stick them in just about any situation and come up with a fun story. Just my thoughts.... ;)

Your work is very nice, about what you say of tim burton... is amazing, I think exaclty the same. Annie Poem is a great illo.
I also like Gris Grimly's stuff, if you're looking for that goth or horror feel without the cookie-cutter feel to them.
He does have quite a number of his designs on clothing at Hot Topic, but I reckon if you can get a bit of reality into the cookie-cutter goth, then all the better!
No comic cons this year - still out here in Oz... Keep up the good work, Mark!
-Yeah I like a lot of Gris Grimly's work too. Especially his newer stuff. I heard he was doing stuff now for Warner Brothers. I dunno, maybe old news...
